SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Three suspects stormed into a Tenderloin home and took a woman’s cash and prescription medicine while threatening to harm her dog on Tuesday evening, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

The robbery was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Taylor Street.

The 65-year-old victim opened her door to find the trio, who insisted that she owed them money and the prescription drugs, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The woman tried to close the door but the suspects forced their way inside, where one of them grabbed the woman’s dog and threatened to harm it if she did not hand over money and pills, Esparza said.

The victim complied and gave the suspects prescription medicine.

They then fled without injuring her or the dog, according to police.

The suspects, two women and a man, remained at large Wednesday morning, Esparza said.

One suspect was described as a black woman between 25 and 35 years old who had red hair and wore a blue beanie and a black jacket that said “San Francisco” on it, Esparza said.

The second female suspect was described as a black woman between 25 and 35 who is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and had short hair and a black leather jacket.

The third suspect was described as a black man between 35 and 45 who is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt over a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and red shoes, Esparza said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
