Man Shot At By Drug Dealers In San Francisco's Bayview

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man who said he owed money to drug dealers was shot at but escaped serious injury in San Francisco's Bayview District on Sunday afternoon, police said Monday.

The shooting was reported around 2:40 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Jennings Street, police said in the department's Bayview Station newsletter.

The 34-year-old victim said he is a drug user who owed money to dealers that approached him as he walked south on Jennings Street, police said.

One of the suspects punched the victim in the face and another pulled out a gun. The victim began to run away and the suspect fired several shots, but did not strike him, according to police.

The suspects then got into a vehicle and drove away. They had not been found as of Monday afternoon, police said.

No other injuries or damage was reported as a result of the gunfire.
