Authorities Investigating Possible Kidnapping At Milpitas Bus Stop

MILPITAS (KCBS) – Police were trying to piece together a possible kidnapping on Tuesday night at an AC Transit bus stop in Milpitas.

Milpitas police said the incident occurred in the area of 450 East Calaveras Boulevard at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. Melissa Casas, the manager at a dental office on Calaveras Boulevard, was leaving work, when she heard a woman in distress at the bus stop.

"I just remember hearing her scream and it alarmed me," she said. "I just know that something was wrong and it wasn't right."

There was an AC Transit bus at the bus stop at the time and the driver reported seeing something even more serious.

"She stated that the male actually physically dragged the female over the berm in front of the business and into the business park," said Milpitas police Sgt. Raj Maharaj.

He said there has been no sign of either the man or woman since, although investigators are looking at surveillance video from the bus, which backed up the driver's account.

Maharaj said the man is described as Asian, in his 30s or 40s, wearing a black jacket, jeans and a dark-colored baseball cap. The woman is also described as Asian, in her 20s or 30s, wearing light-colored clothing.

Police said they are investigating the incident as a possible kidnapping and are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
