(KPIX 5) – Cool tech gifts need not be pricey. Here are my three top picks this year that will delight almost anyone on your list who is even remotely interested in what these products do.
For streaming TV, the hot new device is the Google Chromecast
($35), which plugs into the back of any HDTV and turns it into a big screen streaming device powered and controlled by any Android tablet or phone. It also echoes Chrome browser on the TV so you can turn your TV into a great presentation device for little money.
The Belkin wireless music receiver
($25) plugs into any audio system and lets it receive wirelessly streaming audio from your smarpthone or tablet. Its a great way to make the audio preferences and collection on your mobile part of your home entertainment system without any wires.
Finally, big headphones and retro audio gear are hot as a pistol among young, hip music fans these days. Hit to both bases with a great sounding pair of Panasonic HTX7 headphones
($35) that aren’t the same old Beats that every other kid has. They sound really good for the money and are an over the hear design so your kids can pretend not to hear you. They’ll like that.
