More Than 1,000 Lose Service After Water Mains Break In Millbrae
MILLBRAE (KCBS) — Five water mains broke in Millbrae on Thursday night and Friday morning affecting hundreds of homeowners, a city spokesman said.
Millbrae city spokesman Mike McCarron told KCBS that the breaks happened in one of the city’s four water zones between 11:20 p.m. Thursday night and 6 a.m. Friday morning causing about 1,100 homeowners to lose service.
McCarron said the cause of the breaks was unknown and hoped that an investigation would reveal the cause later Friday afternoon.
Most of the lines had been repaired by 7:45 a.m. and most of those customers have had their service restored.
“Things are slowly getting back to normal but a lot of the local streets are going to be impacted for traffic as the workers are out there digging up and repairing the water mains,” McCarron said.
