SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) — Two cats died in a mobile home fire that started near a stove in Santa Rosa, according to the fire department.

The fire at 2963 Santa Rosa Ave. was reported at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The blaze in the single-story manufactured home was brought under control within 10 minutes.

The occupants weren’t home at the time of the fire, which originated near the stove from an unattended burner and spread to surrounding kitchen cabinets and living area, fire officials said.

Damage is estimated at $30,000 to the structure and $10,000 in loss of contents. The home has heat and smoke damage.

The Rincon Valley Protection District assisted with the fire.
