OneRepublic Announce 2014 'Native Summer Tour'

(CBS SF/RADIO.COM) - OneRepublic will hit the road next year for their Native Summer Tour. Supporting their latest release, Native, the band will spend the summer on tour with Irish rockers The Script.

The band will kick off their headlining tour on May 28 at Red Rocks in Colorado. The Native Summer Tour will run through June and includes stops in Washington, Boston, and a stop at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord. Fans can RSVP for early access to presale tickets beginning December 17 on Facebook. Presale tickets go on sale on December 19 at 10:00am.

In an interview with Radio.com earlier this year, OneRepublic said it was important for them to expand their sound on their third album and try to earn new fans.

"At the end of the day, you have options as an artist," frontman Ryan Tedder explained. "You can be on that five to ten year period and become nostalgic and frankly the butt of a joke like 99% of the bands from the '90s and the early 2000s. I could name a bunch right now that were really great when they were out and they had that moment, but now you talk about them and you have to Google them to figure out what they're doing."

Instead, Tedder said he wants to be a band that everyone remembers.

"I don't ever want that call from VH1's Where Are They Now?," Tedder said. "I always want to be connecting with the fans."
