Firefighters Knock Down 2-Alarm Sunnyvale Roof Fire

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) -- Firefighters made quick work of a two-alarm blaze that burned on the roof of a commercial building in Sunnyvale Tuesday morning, a Department of Public Safety captain said.

Smoke was reported at 246 Caspian Drive at about 6:45 a.m., Capt.  Carl Rushmeyer said. Arriving crews found smoke and flames on the roof of the one-story building, which is owned by Lockheed Martin, he said.

Crews quickly doused the blaze, and fire damage was confined to the roof, although there was minor water damage to the building's interior, Rushmeyer said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
