Car Crashes Into San Jose Home, Police Say Street Racing To Blame

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A car that was racing down a San Jose street Tuesday morning crashed into a house, police said.

The crash was reported at 10:47 a.m. in the 3300 block of Cropley Avenue.

Two vehicles were street racing when a third vehicle turned onto the street and collided with one of the racing cars. That car veered off the roadway and crashed into the home, police said.

Both drivers in the suspect vehicles remained at the scene until police arrived. One of the racers suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital, police said.

No one inside the home was injured, but the house was badly damaged, according to police.

Both drivers were arrested on suspicion of engaging in a motor vehicle speed contest, police said.
