Red Flag Warning Issued For East Bay Hills, Mount Diablo

OAKLAND (CBS) — Unusually dry winter conditions have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning for the East Bay Hills and Mount Diablo which is in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday.

Expect gusty offshore winds and low humidity for elevations above 1000 feet in the North Bay mountains and East Bay hills.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels can contribute to extreme fire danger.
