BART Expected To Make Final Vote On Revised Contract With Unions
OAKLAND (KCBS) -- BART is expected to take a final vote Thursday on its revised contract with its two largest employee unions. A yes vote would mean that union members could approve it as early as next week.
It's the same deal that was reached after two BART strikes—but the BART board rejected because of the family leave clause that they claimed was erroneously included.

The contract contains details which include overtime for training—terms that Leah Berlanga, spokeswoman for Service Employees International Union Local 1021, said haven't been explained to workers yet.
"We do that the day they are going to ratify it. We're going to over the entire and different provisions and our members are able to ask questions and then they vote," Berlanga said.
But before that, however, the BART board has to vote yes, which Berlanga expects it will.
"I think both parties are ready to work together. We hope to get this ratified on all ends and move forward and just look ahead and make BART the best transportation agency that it could be."
Representatives from BART had no comment.
