Police ID Man Found Dead With Gunshot To The Head In Antioch
ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- A man found shot to death in his Antioch apartment on New Year's Eve has been identified as 30-year-old Melvin Bryant Jr., a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy said Thursday.
Police said officers responded around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday to several reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of L Street, where they found Bryant suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said investigators interviewed witnesses at the scene and recovered a handgun.
The coroner's office and police are working to determine whether Bryant was murdered, a coroner's deputy said.
