Santa Clara Businesses Ready For 49ers' Inaugural Season At Levi's Stadium

SANTA CLARA (KPIX 5) - Now that the 49ers saw their season end just short of reaching the Super Bowl, businesses in Santa Clara are looking forward to next season when the team begins play in new Levi's Stadium.

Directly across the street from the nearly-completed stadium is David's restaurant where Patricia Sullivan's been working 21 years now. "With the large amount of people that are going to be at the stadium, we are definitely going to need more employees," said Sullivan.

Signs already show the restaurant proudly catering to a heavy 49ers crowd.

Around the block, Bennigan's is bracing for a new kind of crowd: less business people, more sports fans.

"We expect an increase in our business," said shift manager Michelle Jusinski.

She's was tight-lipped on the restaurant's exact plans for game days, but Jusinski did have a clear, new vision for this restaurant ... a home for proud 49er fans and possibly a tailgating space outside the restaurant. "We want this to be the place people where people come before and after the game."

"I think it's definitely going to change this bar," said Santa Clara resident Ricky Hall." It's going to be insane the amount of people in here for game day."

Hall hopes the new stadium will bring a new variety of business to this South Bay neighborhood. "It's a little industrial in this area. So I would like to see more balancing out with places to eat, have fun...and industrial."

But with more entertainment and more people also comes more headaches. Everyone we talked to agreed on the one thing they want a solution to.

"Definitely parking is one concern," said Jusinkski.

"Until they build, have more parking, then i think it's going to be better," said Hall.

Late last week, the 49ers reached a deal with the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club that will add thousands of parking spots. The plan would allow drivers to park on the golf course fairways.
