Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into 2 Homes In Antioch

ANTIOCH (CBS) -- A car lost control and slammed into 2 homes in Antioch overnight.

Witnesses said the car was speeding when it crashed into the corner of the first home on Buchanan Road. Then, the car flipped and struck a second home, landing upside down in the front yard.

The car also hit a PG&E power box, temporarily knocking out power in the neighborhood.

Surprisingly, no one was injured.

An elderly woman inside one home slept through the whole ordeal. A neighbor told KPIX 5 she has dementia and takes medication to help her sleep.

Police said speed was the cause of the accident but do not suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
