SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— Officials with San Mateo-based company, Go Pro, which makes wearable video cameras, are getting ready to make their company public.

The line of cameras is really popular among athletes like skiers, surfers, and even sky divers. Pretty much anyone into the extreme or active would benefit from one of these cameras.

You don’t have to mess with them too much. You turn them on and they record what you’re doing. A lot of times the user will mount them on their helmets or whatever type of gear they use in their extreme sport or activity.

There are some really great videos coming from use of these cameras, which is definitely a contributor to its popularity. Aside from selling cameras starting at $200, they’re also starting to monetize the amazing action videos coming out.
