SAN FRANCISCO (49ers receiver Anquan Boldin is denying reports of a rift between coach Jim Harbaugh and some top players.

“I really don’t think there’s anything there,” John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. “If there were, it’s at the wrong time. If the players and Jim Harbaugh’s (relationship) was wearing thin, it should have been reported and observed and seen during the season… (Because) it wasn’t, I imagine that it wasn’t there.”

Boldin made his comments after announcing he’ll be back with the team next season, which Madden said is great news for the 49ers.

“In the NFL today, wide receivers don’t seem to get the separation they used to get, you know, separation from the defensive back. They all seem to be right there side by side. You just throw one and one guy has to out-muscle the other guy to get the ball. And Anquan Boldin is great at out-muscling guys to get the ball.” (8:25)
