PETALUMA (CBS SF) — A security camera captured a man helping himself to cash from a Petaluma McDonald’s drive-thru window Monday.

The theft happened at around 2:00 a.m. Monday at the McDonald’s on Lakeville St. in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center.

Staffers were cleaning up in another part of the restaurant when the man pried open the takeout window, opened the register and made off with $200, police said.

Petaluma police said the man faces felony burglary charges and if he already has a record he could be looking at years in prison.

Anyone who recognizes the man was urged to contact Petaluma police Officer Aaron Lindh at (707) 778-4372.
