Keeping within the family and staying true to creator Charles M. Schulz, the "Peanuts" movie is produced by his son Craig Schulz and written by Charles' grandson, Bryan Schulz. Much to the chagrin of some diehard fans, the film marks the first time the "Peanuts" gang will be made using CGI and shot for 3D.

Taking on the task of bringing Snoopy to life is Blue Sky Studios, the animation house behind the films "Rio & Rio 2," "Ice Age," "Robots" and others. Steve Martino, who brought us "Ice Age: Continental Drift" and "Horton Hears a Who!" is taking the reins of directing the "Peanuts" film. It was his devotion to staying true to the original concept in Dr. Seuss' story of "Horton" is what attracted Schulz to helm the movie.

"I'm way more protective than my father would have been. Our No. 1 goal was always to be authentic to his work and legacy" Schulz goes on to say about his father's legacy. With the use of 3D and computer imagery, Schulz says his father would have "embraced the technology" according to an interview with USA Today.

Very little is known on the storyline. "…it's about a round-headed kid and his dog, and that's about as far as I'm willing to go." Craig Schulz says. About using CGI on the film, Schulz says "…we'll see that Snoopy has soft-white fur."

Prior to the teaser trailer release, USA Today posted two photos (above & below) of Charlie Brown and Snoopy from the movie.
