Former Cal Star Aaron Rodgers Rallies Wisconsin Hoops Team To Elite 8

ANAHEIM (CBS SF) -  The star of the incessant State Farm "Discount Double Check" ad campaign may need to do an alma mater double check. Former Cal standout and Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers was captured on camera celebrating with the Wisconsin Badgers Thursday after the team advanced to the NCAA elite eight.

We didn't exactly expect to see the Chico native pulling for the Stanford Cardinal, but why the Badgers? The team is based in Madison, not Green Bay. Perhaps the guy just likes a good party, which is what the team's locker room turned into after their victory over Baylor.

Rodgers took time to snap photos with most of the squad before leaving the arena in Anaheim.

"We all made him uncomfortable staring at him," guard Josh Gasser told USA Today.

His alma mater probably could have used their own emotional lift from the 2011 NFL MVP this week. The Golden Bears were eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the NIT Tournament on Wednesday after falling 67-65 to Southern Methodist University.
