Teenager Killed , Man Injured In Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (KCBS)— Oakland Police Department says a 17-year-old is dead and a 22-year-old is recovering from a gunshot wound to his leg in a pair of shootings early Monday. Police are searching for a shooter and are trying to piece together a crime scene.

An unidentified teen was spotted on the street after midnight near Highland Hospital and died a short time later in the E.R. Not long after that a 22-year-old drove himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police said he's expected to survive.

Police spokesman Frank Bonafacio suggested the non-fatal shooting may have taken place in the Grand Lake Area, but that's still unclear. Police are looking into the possibility that they were shot around Interstate Highway 580 near 14th Avenue.
