Arrest Made In San Francisco Smartphone, Laptop Theft Caught On Video

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Police have arrested a suspect suspected of stealing a laptop and smartphone from a customer while surveillance cameras were rolling at a coffee shop in San Francisco last week.

The suspect, identified as Paul Raynal, was arrested a different café after a worker recognized the suspect from the video, which became widely circulated.

Surveillance video showed a person wearing a striped shirt entering a coffee house at Post and Taylor streets around 3:20 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The video shows the person taking the unattended electronics while the victim, software developer Ahryun Moon, was using the restroom.

Police said Raynal was wearing the same striped shirt during the arrest.

Raynal also had an outstanding arrest warrant, according to authorities.
