Women Accused Of Stealing From Moraga Store, Trying To Return Items For Store Credit

MORAGA (CBS SF) -- Two women have been arrested in Moraga for allegedly stealing items from a Home Goods store and fraudulently returning them to receive store credit.

The thefts happened a short time after 2 p.m. Tuesday after 25-year-old Dominika Johnson of Oakland and Kendra Hill, 28, of Antioch entered the Home Goods store at 590 Moraga Road, according to police.

Police said the pair took items from the store and during the same trip claimed the items as returns to receive store gift cards.

Employees recognized Johnson as having returned stolen items from the store three times over the past two weeks, according to police.

Officers were called to the store and Johnson was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, probation violation and outstanding arrest warrants for grand theft and traffic violations.

Hill was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, as well as child endangerment after officers found that she had left children in a car outside the store during the alleged burglary.

The children were turned over to a relative.
