Items Recovered After Man, Woman Arrested For Strong-Arm Robberies In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police in Oakland arrested a man and woman in connection with two strong-arm robberies that occurred within 20 minutes of each other Thursday morning, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a pair of reported strong-arm robberies, one at about 9:50 a.m. in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Avenue and the other at about 10:05 a.m. in the area of Howe Street and Ridgeway Avenue, police Officer Frank Bonifacio said.

The victims in the robberies gave officers a description of the suspects and the vehicle, according to Bonifacio.

Bonifacio said officers learned the vehicle frequents the Webster Street corridor. An officer later spotted the car in the area of Webster Street and West MacArthur Boulevard.

The car was stopped by officers and both suspects were arrested for the robberies, Bonifacio said.

The items lost in the robberies were recovered, he said.
