10-Year-Old Boy Shoots Classmates With Pellet Gun In Santa Rosa School
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A 10-year-old boy fired a plastic pellet gun at three students at Wright Charter School in unincorporated Santa Rosa on Monday, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
A 9-year-old boy brought the clear plastic gun with an orange tip to school to trade it with a 10-year-old boy, sheriff's officials said.

The older boy then shot three students with the pellet gun around noon, sheriff's Lt. Mark Essick said.
The plastic pellets are about one-fifth of an inch long, or a little bigger than a BB, Essick said.
School officials found out about the incident and later called the sheriff's office. The school decided to handle the incident through the school district and its policies, sheriff's officials said.
Sheriff's deputies took an incident report but no arrests were made. Sheriff's officials said they planned to meet with parents and school administrators today to discuss the incident.
School Superintendent Adam Stein did not return a call Tuesday morning.
The K-8 Wright Charter School at 4389 Price Ave. is in unincorporated Sonoma County east of Sebastopol and just outside Santa Rosa's southwest city limit.
The school's curriculum and instruction offers an eco-literacy and environmental stewardship focus.
