Man Arrested In Connection With Early-Morning Shooting In San Francisco's SOMA Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a 26-year-old man in an apartment in San Francisco's South of Market area early Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. to reports of a shooting at an apartment building in the 900 block of Mission Street and found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside an apartment, according to San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy.

Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Officers at the scene also found the suspect, identified as 68-year-old Amisi Sudi Kachepa of San Francisco.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to San Francisco County Jail.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call San Francisco police.
