49ers Trade Pick To Bills For Bay Area-Native Stevie Johnson

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The Buffalo Bills have reportedly dealt receiver Stevie Johnson to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional pick, adding another big-play threat to the niner aerial attack.

The person told the Associated press on the condition of anonymity because neither team has announced the move made on Friday. ESPN first reported the trade, and said the Bills acquired a conditional fourth-round pick. The deal was made a day after the Bills traded up five spots to select Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins - the most coveted wideout in the class - with the fourth pick in the NFL draft.

Johnson appeared to confirm his departure from Buffalo via Twitter Friday:

Johnson was born in San Francisco and attended high school in Fairfield. He returns to the Bay Area after playing in Buffalo since 2008. During his time with the Bills he earned a reputation as a talented but brash receiver. He is also credited with one of the oddest tweets in professional sports history. In 2010 after he dropped a touchdown pass that would have put the Bills ahead of the Steelers, who ultimately beat them, Johnson questioned God with the following tweet:

"I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO..."

Despite an avalanche of jabs from sports pundits, Johnson went on to post three consecutive 1,000 yard plus seasons from 2010-2012 before his numbers dipped last year. The Bills have added three new receivers via the draft over the last two years, leaving Johnson as the odd man out.

Johnson figures to land third on the 49er receiver depth chart after current starters Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree.
