Scotts Valley Police Search For Man Who Harassed Teen Girl

SCOTTS VALLEY (CB SF) - Police are looking for a man who harassed a 16-year-old girl inside a car in Scotts Valley last week.

The girl was waiting at a bus stop in the area of the 5000 block of Scotts Valley Drive on May 1 around 6:30 p.m., police said.

A man in a red four-door sedan stopped and asked the girl if she needed a ride, according to police.

The girl accepted the ride because she had missed her bus, police said.

The man drove a short distance then pulled over to a side street and attempted to kiss the girl, according to police.

He also tugged at the girl's shorts but she was able to kick the man and escape from the vehicle to look for help, police said.

The suspect is described as an East Indian man with a heavy accent around his late 40s standing 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall with receding black and gray hair, brown eyes, yellow-stained teeth and dirty fingers. He was last seen wearing a dark blue button-up shirt and jeans.

The vehicle is described as an older model red four-door sedan similar to a Honda with black interior and manual transmission.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Scotts Valley police Sgt. Mike Dean at (831) 440-5654.
