Trash Fire Burns At San Jose Landfill

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Firefighters were battling a trash fire at the Zanker Landfill in San Jose Sunday afternoon, a fire dispatcher said.

The trash fire, located in the vicinity of 705 Los Esteros Road was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m., a dispatcher said.

No structures have been reported threatened and firefighters were still working to bring the blaze under control as of 5:45 p.m.

Heavy smoke is visible in the surrounding areas.
