FOLSOM (CBS/AP) — Authorities say a boat that capsized with four men on board in a lake east of Sacramento was traveling faster than 100 miles per hour.

Folsom Lake Superintendent Richard Preston tells the Sacramento Bee that the boat’s high speed is one reason rescuers have not been able to find the four men, who are presumed dead.

The boat capsized on Saturday, but gusty winds and poor visibility forced dive teams to suspend their search for the men over the weekend.

California parks department spokeswoman Vicky Waters said crews were back out on the water on Monday, and the weather was being more cooperative.

Preston said Folsom Lake does not have a speed limit for boats in open water.
