Tearful Plea From Victim's Dad After College Massacre In Isla Vista

GOLETA (CBS/AP) -- A man whose son was among the victims killed in a shooting rampage near a California university quaked with grief and rage as he described his "lost and broken" family and the proliferation of guns he believes led to his son's death.

Richard Martinez told reporters gathered outside a sheriff's department Saturday that his 20-year-old son Christopher Martinez, a sophomore at the University of California, Santa Barbara, was among the seven dead after the shootings near the school on Friday night.

Martinez choked back tears as he said, "When will this insanity stop?"

He then shouted "we should say to ourselves `not one more!"' before collapsing into tears as a chaplain led him into the station.

Martinez says he talked to his son just 45 minutes before he was shot and killed inside a deli. Martinez says his son's roommate tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.
