Building In San Francisco's Presidio Evacuated Due To Hazardous Materials Given All-Clear
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- At least one building in San Francisco's Presidio was evacuated on Thursday morning for about an hour due to a hazardous materials situation, fire officials said.
A fire official told KCBS it all started around 10:30 a.m in the archaeology building when workers arrived and noticed a pungent smell and called the fire department.
Later, it was discovered that the odor was due to an uncapped bottle of ethanol inside the lab.
The bottle has been capped and the all clear was given around 11:30 a.m.
