Shooting In San Francisco's Mission District Leaves One Injured

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was shot in San Francisco's Mission District early Tuesday morning, a police spokesman said.

Two groups, involving about 15 people, fought each other near 19th and Mission Streets at about 2 a.m. when someone pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg, Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim was taken to General Hospital for treatment his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The shooting suspect, believed to be a man in his 20s, had not been found as of this morning, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
