Son Allegedly Sets San Jose House Ablaze After Argument With His Dad

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — San Jose fire and police responded to a small fire at a house in north San Jose Thursday afternoon that a resident said was set deliberately.

The San Jose Fire Department received a call at 4:20 p.m. about a reported fire in the 400 block of Terrace Drive, according to fire Capt. Rob Brown.

Brown said that the fire was contained at 4:37 p.m. and under control by 4:50 p.m.

A resident at the home, who declined to give his name, alleged that the fire was set by his 29-year-old son after an argument Thursday afternoon.

Fire officials said the fire’s cause was under investigation but indicated it was a police investigation.

Brown said the fire inside the house was small but due to smoke damage the residents would not be able to return Thursday night. Two people were displaced. There were no injuries.
