SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— San Francisco police are investigating a fatal Friday morning shooting in the Mission District where a man was found with multiple gunshots to his upper body.

Investigators said the incident happened shortly after 9:15 a.m. at Mission and 15th streets where the body was found.

According to San Francisco Police Spokesman Albie Esparza, the victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Homicide investigators are on scene. We are canvassing the neighborhood for any witnesses; any video surveillance that could exist,” Esparza said.

Police are asking for the public’s help and instructed them to contact them if they saw or know anything about the shooting.

Esparza said the only suspect information they have is that that someone appears to have left the area in a four-door sedan following the shooting.
