Former Corte Madera Mayor Kills Wife, Self In LA
CORTE MADERA (CBS SF) -- Former Corte Madera mayor and councilman Vaso Medigovich and his wife Meredythe have died in a murder-suicide in Los Angeles, police said.
Vaso, 73, and Meredythe, 65, died on May 29 at their home in Park La Brea apartments in the La Brea are of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles police Detective Mark Morgan said Vaso killed his wife and then himself. Meredythe suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
The couple was married for 30 years, according to their obituary. A ceremony for the pair is scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Corte Madera Community Center.
Vaso Medigovich was elected to the Corte Madera Town Council in 1987 and served as mayor in 1992-1993.
They moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to be near their daughters, according to their obituary.
