Salinas Police Seek Man Suspected Of Stabbing His Girlfriend To Death

SALINAS (CBS SF) -- Police are looking for a man suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend in Salinas Saturday morning.

Maria Ceja, 44, arrived to her home in the 300 block of Central Avenue around 12:15 a.m. when her boyfriend was waiting for her in the parking lot, police said.

Ceja and her boyfriend, identified as a man named Florencio, got into an argument ending with him stabbing her in the chest, according to police.

Ceja was transported to Natividad Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

Investigators said Ceja and Florencio had dated for about a year.

Florencio fled the scene of the stabbing and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
