SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A former White House Press Secretary may be in line for public relations positions at a few of the Bay Area’s big tech companies.

Rumors began flying on Twitter that Apple’s pick for their top PR position was former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, tech blog Recode reported.

Tech journalists speculated that the company is looking for a friendly face.

Ridesharing company Uber is also rumored to be interested in hiring Carney.
