Drought Forces Hollister BBQ Joint To Close Down Over Rising Meat Prices

HOLLISTER (CBS SF) -- California's drought has been pushing beef prices higher, and those prices are putting a popular barbecue spot out of business.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Hollister says the price increase on meat and produce because of the drought means it's no longer practical to remain open.

The restaurant was set to celebrate its one-year anniversary next month.

California's drought has prompted state officials to punish homeowners and municipalities for wasting water.
