19-Year-Old Man Gunned Down On Salinas Street Dies In Hospital; Suspects Sought

SALINAS (CBS SF) — Police in Salinas are looking for the suspects in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man on Friday evening.

The victim, David Hernandez, was walking on Fairhaven Street near Haven Alley where two men approached him around 7:45 p.m., police said.

Without exchanging words, the men shot Hernandez multiple times before they fled in a waiting vehicle, according to police.

Witnesses described the suspects as two men in their early 20s and the suspect vehicle as a burgundy sedan, police said.

Hernandez was transported to Natividad Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
