SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — An 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Daniel Beltran, a San Francisco resident, was killed in the incident that occurred around 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Sixth Street, according to police.

Officers responded at 5:12 a.m. to a 911 call requesting help at Sixth and Harrison streets, but they arrived there and did not find a victim, police said.

Shortly afterward, Beltran showed up at San Francisco General Hospital and was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police have since determined he was shot near Sixth and Mission streets, a few blocks north of the initial call.

Homicide investigators are investigating the shooting death. No arrests had been made in the case as of this morning, police said.
