Selfie Of Arab-American Girl, Jewish Man Kissing Goes Viral
(CBS SF) -- The selfie of an Arab-American girl kissing her Jewish boyfriend has gone viral, showing that despite the conflict in the Middle East, some Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies.
The couple posted the picture while on vacation in support of an initiative called 'Jews And Arabs Refuse To Be Enemies' which has a Facebook page with over 6,000 likes.
The creators of the Facebook page want to take on the stereotypes associated with the conflict in the Middle East.
"Abraham and I were very upset with the stereo types generalizations and hatred that surrounded our social media accounts," Dania Darwish said.
The movement has gained support from the political sphere as well.
"It just gives another opportunity for education, educating young people that the two sides can live together," Andy David, General Consul of Israel to the Pacific Northwest said.
