Ben Affleck as Batman Unveiled at Comic-Con & Social Media

SAN DIEGO, CA (CBS SF/AP) – It’s a big week for superhero fans — Comic-Con kicked off in San Diego, and Wednesday was Batman’s 75th anniversary.

To mark the Caped Crusader’s milestone birthday, a new photo of his latest incarnation — as played by the Berkeley-born Ben Affleck in the upcoming film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” — was unveiled at the annual fan convention.

Via the movie’s Facebook page, they also revealed the photo of Affleck as Batman:

The brooding, side-profile image was also released via social media, so those not attending Comic-Con were still able to get a glimpse.

Comic-Con continues through Sunday. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
