ANTIOCH (CBS SF) — Police arrested 11 people — including a man suspected of shooting a woman in front of her apartment last week — during a crime suppression effort in Antioch on Wednesday night.

The operation happened in different crime-stricken portions of Antioch and Pittsburg from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. with help from the FBI and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, police said.

Police said one of the 11 people arrested during the operation was Emmitt Tippie, 20, whom investigators believe shot and injured a 29-year old woman in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive last Thursday.

Tippie was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and on two outstanding felony warrants.

The remaining 10 suspects were arrested on suspicion of various drug and weapons offenses, according to police.

Police said officers seized four guns and various amounts of illegal narcotics during the operation.
