(CBS SF) — Five Red Cross Bay Area Chapter volunteers are helping provide disaster relief to those affected by Tropical Storm Iselle, the American Red Cross said Monday.

Virginia Hart of Richmond, Jane Jennings of San Ramon, Alfred Mallamo and Michael Pringle of San Mateo, and Jim Stephenson of Mill Valley have all volunteered to travel to Hawaii and help with relief efforts, the Red Cross said.

Red Cross workers in Hawaii are assessing the damage caused by Iselle and collaborating with government officials and community partners to provide proper support for those recovering in the aftermath of the storm.

2,200 people took refuge in 31 evacuation centers across Hawaii when Iselle made landfall on Thursday and Friday, according to the Red Cross.
