49ers Move Practice From Levi’s Stadium Over Issues With Turf

SANTA CLARA (KPIX 5) — San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh decided to move the team’s practice from Levi’s Stadium after receiver Stevie Johnson slipped on the field’s turf.

Harbaugh called it quits and moved the team back to the practice facility next door.

During Sunday’s preseason game, the turf was giving way in several areas, and had been replaced for Wednesday’s practice.

Two players that spoke with KPIX 5’s Dennis O’Donnell said the turf wasn’t quite set and needed more time.
