Boys Accused Of Burglarizing San Jose Homes, Including One Where Dog Was Beaten To Death

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Two boys were arrested Tuesday in connection with the burglaries of several homes in South San Jose near Almaden Expressway, including one where a resident found their dog had been killed.

At 2:33 p.m. Tuesday, San Jose police were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 7000 block of Burnside Drive, where officers found and arrested the two juveniles, according to police Sgt. Heather Randol.

Police later determined that the pair was responsible for several other home burglaries in the same neighborhood, Randol said.

Then at 8 p.m., a resident in the 6800 block of Eldridge Drive reported that their dog had been bludgeoned to death and their home burglarized, according to police.

After an investigation, police concluded that the two boys were also involved in that burglary.

Both minors were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of residential burglary and one of them was also booked on suspicion of animal cruelty, Randol said.
