'Tears for Fears' Announce First U.S. Tour in Three Years
OAKLAND (RADIO.COM) – Tears for Fears are one of those rare '80s bands that sees their popularity return periodically, whether it is from use in the film Donnie Darko (albeit in cover version form) or their many contemporary covers of songs like Hot Chip's "Boy from School," Animal Collective's "My Girls," or Arcade Fire's "Ready to Start."
For the first time in three years, the "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" performers will be hitting American soil with a select run of dates. The band is expected to release an album later this year or early in 2015.
Among the announced dates will be a stop in Portland for the first ever Pabst Music Festival, along with Modest Mouse, GZA and more. Other stops on the scheduled tour include Austin, L.A., Oklahoma and the Bay Area stop at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Maybe they just like things starting with the sound "oak?"
