'Clear' Security Fast Lane Opens For Giants Fans At AT&T Park

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The program that lets frequent flyers slip through airport security faster will also speed baseball fans to their seats at AT&T Park.

The CLEAR $179 trusted traveler program, which operates at nine airports nationwide, will be available at the Marina Gate before Tuesday night's game. Card-carrying members will be able to speed through a popup lane. Friends without the card will be able to use the adjacent screening lane. The pilot program will run through the final ten home games of the regular season, according to the website Travelskills.

Major League Baseball is requiring metal detector screening at all ballparks by the start of the 2015 season. Fans in Oakland and San Francisco have been screened by the walk-through detectors or wands throughout the 2014 season, sometimes leading to large backups at the gate.
