Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake Strikes Central Indonesia
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CBS SF) -- A earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 struck central Indonesia Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's automated seismograph alert network.
The quake struck in the ocean shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday about 75 miles Southeast of the town of Modayag.
No tsunami warning was immediately issued.
