Chocolate Lovers Just Love Ghirardelli's Chocolate Festival

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) -- The 19th Annual Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival kicked off Saturday in San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square.

It's a tribute to all things chocolate benefitting Project Open Hand, a non-profit that serves meals to seniors and people with HIV and AIDS.

The weekend-long event offers everything from cooking classes to even ice cream eating contests.

"The famous Ghirardelli Chocolate Ice Cream Eating Contest starts at 2:30 each day," says Kym Hough, Director of Marketing for the festival. "People put their arms behind their back, put their face in the ice cream and eat it all… the crowd goes wild."
